Discover Roman History in Leiden
The Mooi Matilo Foundation is organising a special bicycle tour in collaboration with the National Museum of Antiquities as part of the National Archeology Days on Sunday, 16th June.
Cycle with the experienced city guides Sijbrand or Willem from the National Museum of Antiquities to Park Matilo (or vice versa) and discover the Roman history of Leiden, the first professor of archeology in the world, Caspar Reuvens, and the most beautiful places in the city along the way.
The bike tour starts at 1 p.m. at the National Museum of Antiquities with a tour of the Netherlands department in Roman times. The tour ends around 2:30 PM in Park Matilo with a drink at the De Fabrica visitor center. The bike tour starts again at 3 p.m. in Park Matilo, near De Fabrica. This ends around 4:30 PM with a tour of the National Museum of Antiquities.
